With my Year 9 class for this topic I got the students to develop a survey, based on their own interests, where they needed to include questions that would collect both quantitative and qualitative data.

They also needed defining questions which they could use to sort and analyse their data, such as age groups or gender.

They also had to write a report on the data collected and evaluate the effectiveness of their questions in relation to the data they collected.
