For me the key differences between cyber security, awareness and safety are that – respectively – they seem to deal broadly with passive measures, how an individual can be affected within the cyber environment, and then how an individual can affect a cyber environment.
Cyber awareness and cyber safety are the most taught in the classroom, however arguably students are gaining similar knowledge in these realms simply by interacting with the cyber environment in their personal lives.
Cyber security seems to be a more technical area, and while fundamental theory may be taught at times, this seems to be the least taught of the three areas. While it is important, the real world application tends to be by professionals designing and implementing security measures, and a theoretical understanding is probably enough for students.
