However in scala book I can see it is called functoid which is weird. Is it a naming problem or did I misunderstand something?
I think the term ‘functoid’ is actually a mistranslation of ‘functionoid’.
That said, it can be very useful to see Scala code in which a function is defined as a value. Here is a good example:
